The Walking Neighbourhood: Hosted by children project is designed to engage young people in the negotiation of urban space and develop understandings around child actualization and the ways that young people enact active citizenship. In this paper, Andrew and Louise explore the implications of this project, and in doing so, they unsettle predominant thinking around children as active citizens, notions of child safety and the place of children within cityscapes.
