child-led-tours-louptalesMore and more, children are experiencing public spaces as sites of surveillance, where limitations are imposed on their demonstration of active citizenship.

Through an arts project titled Walking Neighbourhood hosted by children, Louise and Andrew discuss child-led tours as public pedagogy, as well as the potential for civic learning through dynamic interaction with adults. Walking is framed in this paper as a relational art form, used to reveal child-provoked urban geographies as well as demonstrate the ways that they enact citizenship in public spaces.
